Foster parents who question trans ideology to LOSE custody of their children under ‘dangerous’ Harris-Biden plan

Children are being taken away because their foster parents believe in biological reality.

Kamala Harris claims to believe in small businesses.

But, perversely, she seems highly-skeptical of the traditional family — especially if they don’t endorse trans ideology.

That’s because a new rule under the Harris-Biden administration could strip parents of legal custody if they fail to ‘affirm’ their child’s perceived gender.

The rule, which currently relates to foster parents, is part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ revised policy on child welfare.

Effective from July, it details the statutory requirements foster agencies must follow in placing minors, and stresses the pro-trans views parents must have in order to avoid state intervention.

“Every child deserves a safe and loving home,” said Xavier Becerra, HHS Secretary. “When any child comes into government care, they should have support and services that meet their specific needs.

“By addressing the needs of LGBTQI+ children, this rule brings us one step closer to ensuring that all children have the opportunity to thrive.”

However, according to a report by the Daily Caller, that rule means foster parents must fully-endorse their child’s so-called ‘gender identity’ — even if it means embracing puberty-blocking medication or life-altering, irreversible surgery.

If the new policy is deemed successful, it could potentially be used as a blueprint for overhauling the entire child protective systems nationwide, which would then include biological parents.

There would be no exceptions for religious liberty or free speech.

Incredibly, the Harris-Biden administration’s rule works on the premise that parents who refute trans ideology, either for religious or scientific reasons, are emotionally abusive.

Conversely, in order to be deemed ‘affirmative’, they must fulfill three criteria.

First, adoptive parents “must commit to establishing an environment that supports the child’s LGBTQI+ status or identity.” Secondly, they “must be trained with the appropriate knowledge and skills to provide for the needs of the child related to the child’s self-identified sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.”

Finally, and perhaps most ominously, the policy insists foster parents “must facilitate the child’s access to age or developmentally-appropriate resources, services, and activities that support their health and well-being.”

This includes healthcare.

If foster parents are hesitant, officials can implement the Youth Acceptance Project, which is a framework designed to persuade them to affirm their child’s gender dysphoria.

Applied by clinicians, it was created by California-based nonprofit Family Builders and claims to “assist families who are struggling with the sexual orientation and/or gender identity/expression of their child.”

It adds: “YAP clinicians use a trauma-informed, psycho-educational model to address the misinformation, resistance, fear, and grief that families often struggle with.”

YAP is currently being implemented in California, New York, Pennsylvania and Missouri, along with Ohio, according to The National SOGIE Center, which is based at the University of Connecticut School of Social Work. (SOGIE is an acronym for Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression).

Parents can be referred to the YAP program if they simply fail to use their child’s preferred pronouns.

The initiative is a tail-end consequence of an Executive Order signed by Biden in 2022 which, he claimed, was designed to “advance equality for LGBTQI+ individuals”.

Naturally, it has attracted significant criticism since it was first implemented in April.

“The underlying premise of the rule is that it is mistreatment and abuse if you do not affirm a child’s self-selected identity,” Rachel N. Morrison, director of the HHS Accountability Project at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, told DC.

“This premise is dangerous and could extend outside the foster care context to adoption, custody disputes, and schools.”

According to Vernadette Broyles, president of the Parental Rights Campaign, there have already been a number of families affected by the rule.

“There has absolutely been an uptick in families that are having their custody of their child taken away, investigated or disrupted because they believe in biological reality,” she said.

One case involved a family in Montana, who allegedly lost their teenage daughter to child protective services when they did not allow her to live as a boy.

As reported by Reduxx, the girl’s devastated parents accused the state’s child protective services of “kidnapping” their teenage daughter.

Then, in 2018, an Ohio judge granted custody to a transgender teen’s grandparents after the parents opposed her wishes to begin hormone therapy.

Meanwhile, in California, the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services took a 14-year-old girl from her mother’s home because she wouldn’t affirm her daughter’s desire to transition to a boy.

“I had my rights taken away,” the distraught mother told the Daily Signal.

If Harris wins the election, there’ll be many more families in a similar situation. And, tragically, countless more impressionable minors sacrificed at the altar of progressivism.

Given she recently admitted making big mistakes in ‘raising’ her own step-children, Kamala certainly shouldn’t be trusted with other people’s.

Quite frankly, she’s already done enough damage.
