Basic gays turning on Chappell Roan is straight out of the Soviet Union

LGBT people have a duty to support one another. That’s the mantra of vociferous liberals, who believe we should base our loyalties on lazy tribalism.

Except, while this may sound good, there’s always a caveat when it comes to progressives – and even pop stars aren’t exempt.

This is something singer/songwriter Chappell Roan experienced first-hand after she recently refused to endorse either Kamala Harris or Donald Trump.

“I have so many issues with our government in every way,” she told The Guardian. “There are so many things that I would want to change. So I don’t feel pressured to endorse someone. There’s problems on both sides. I encourage people to use your critical thinking skills, use your vote – vote small, vote for what’s going on in your city.” 

Soon after, she elaborated on this during a chat with Rolling Stone.

“I don’t have a side because I hate both sides and I’m so embarrassed by everything going on right now,” the Midwest native, real name Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, mused. “I’m pretty fuck the government and fuck everything that’s going on right now.”

Pretty sensible, right?

Yeah, except liberals quickly launched an offensive against her, implied that she was a traitor to both America and her gay fans. The owners of X account PopFlop were amongst the worst offenders. They cherry-picked soundbytes, then mischaracterized them in a post that was shared more than 18,000 times and garnered 76 million views.  

Naturally, a tsunami of hate and bullying followed.

“Chappell Roan is an embarrassment to lesbians,” said one vicious communist. “You can’t embrace your sexuality [Roan is gay] and then pretend the political party that’d criminalize our happiness is the same as the one who protects it.”

“She’s either a fool or a closet Republican,” said another. “Never supporting her again.”

“It’s the uneducated people like this why Trump got elected the first time around,” said a third. 

“White girl unaffected syndrome at play,” spat a fourth. “She needs to mature in her political thinking. She is officially canceled.”

Many others took it a step further; they threatened to burn her records and CDs on a public pyre of disgust. Others vowed to boycott her live shows and future tours. 

It was a depressing (but entirely predictable) reaction. Not least because the claim that Trump would ‘criminalize’ homosexuality is absurd.

Outspoken has already debunked many of the propaganda lies that are regurgitated by useful idiots regarding Trump, but if he was going to ban same-sex relationships, wouldn’t he have done it in 2016? I mean, duh.

Nevermind the fact Trump removed all anti-gay language from the 2024 Republican party platform.

However, it was also depressing because of the communist-style witch-hunt which was inflicted upon a celebrity who should be celebrated for thinking critically.

At a time when most singers are pressured into being politically subservient, it was refreshing for an entertainer to be truly moderate and know her own limitations. After all, Roan is a pop star, not a politician.

Still, they turned on her for not being sufficiently committed to the regime. Things got so bad that Roan was forced to issue a clarifying statement via TikTok.

“I have encouraged people to use critical thinking skills, learn what they’re voting for. As usual, it has been completely taken out of context,” she said. “It’s important for people to question their world leaders, their algorithms, and even themselves.”

She added: “No, I’m not voting for Trump, and yes, I will always question those in power [including Harris]. I’m sorry that you fell for the clickbait, but I will always stand up for what I believe in.” 

It was a brave thing for her to do; after all, it would’ve been much easier for her to follow in Taylor Swift’s footsteps and publicly endorse Harris. 

Alas, her efforts still didn’t work. The hate continued.

To her credit, Roan posted another video to TikTok in which she further explained her (entirely reasonable) position. “I’ve just woken up to people totally skewing this again,” she said. “Obviously fuck the policies of the right, but also fuck some of the policies of the left. I can’t put my name, and my project, behind some of the left’s genocidal views.”

I was low-key impressed. See, such defiance is rare in today’s woke world, especially when ‘cancel culture’ poses such a threat. 

Her bravery represents something promising about the forthcoming election: the fact that not all young people are useful idiots, psychologically captured by the regime. Some use their brains and have much-needed integrity.  

The question is, with millions of illegals primed for the ballot box, will the election itself?

Progressives play dirty. If they can sacrifice each other, including Roan, I fear for what they’ll do to democracy.
