Tim Walz’s government is paying THOUSANDS for kids to go on wilderness retreats with trans activists

It sounds incredulous.

But it’s true: Tim Walz’s government is paying thousands of dollars for young children to attend wilderness retreats with trans campaigners.

The program, which is designed for youths questioning their sexuality or gender, has already received $10,500 from The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

Those taxpayer funds were made available as part of the No Child Left Inside grant program.

According to its website, the scheme is designed “to support and increase efforts to expand programming that connects youth to the outdoors.”

The state money was subsequently given to the Clean River Partners organization, which protects Minnesota’s waterways and sponsors the monthly LGBT event, which is called QUEERY.

The name is an acronym for ‘Queer Unity, Environmental Education, and Recreation for Youth’.

“The club is designed to offer a safe space for young individuals to connect, learn outdoor skills, and explore the intersection of queerness and nature,” the official website says.

“It aims to address the lack of environmental education and outdoor skill-building opportunities for queer and questioning youth in our rural area,”

According to a report in The Daily Wire, children as young as 11 are invited to attend the expeditions. However, their parents are discouraged from being present.

Project leader Heron Mahr, who is trans/non-binary and uses the pronouns ‘they/them’, says parents are asked “not to attend the events… so participants have the chance to build their independence outdoors.”

Mahr, who appears to have deleted her Instagram profile in recent days, also told the outlet she personally oversees supervision of minors with the help of another trans individual.

That person is Vio Csedrik, a board member of a “student-run drag organization” at Carleton College, a private liberal arts school in Northfield, Minn.

Csedrik has previously posted videos of her gender transition to Instagram, including one showcasing the effects of a year on testosterone.

Another post shows her scars from undergoing a double-mastectomy, colloquially referred to as ‘top surgery’ in trans parlance.

So what happens on these outings? Apparently, children are taught “how queerness shows up in nature.” This includes the existence of gay penguins and how the split-gill mushroom apparently has 28,000 sex types. They’re also taught about sex-changing tadpoles.

Naturally, the group’s existence has raised eyebrows.

Journalist Matt Walsh ridiculed the project on X, saying: “What might Walz-funded QUEERY teach your 11-year-old? How to look at female wood frog sex-changing tadpoles ‘through a very human lens.’ Because what applies to tadpoles is apparently relevant to whether or not we should dose human tweens with castration drugs.”

Of course, it’s not clear how involved Tim Walz has been with the QUEERY program, if at all, but he certainly has a long history of LGBT activism.

Both Walz and his wife, Gwen, promoted LGBT identification while they were high school teachers. Tim Walz also advised his high school’s Gay-Straight Alliance Club.

While this alone is commendable, he has since strayed into more questionable forms of support, including headlining the national dinner for the Human Rights Campaign. Far from being apolitical, the HRC is thoroughly Marxist, which is a major red flag.

Specifically, it supports the use of puberty blockers in children, even though debate still rages as to whether minors are incapable of making such life-changing decisions. Over in the UK, lawsuits have already started emerging from dissatisfied trans youngsters who felt failed by a ‘progressive’ system.

Despite this, the HRC still supports both puberty-blockers and gender-reassignment surgery for minors, claiming the latter benefits them greatly. The reality is that such surgery makes youngsters infertile for life.

That’s not all. HRC’s president, Kelley Robinson, was also recently quoted as calling for a communist-style change to America’s constitution.  

“We can’t just worry about protecting democracy… we have to reimagine it,” she said at the DNC in August. “[Our vision for America should be] more revolutionary than what our founders put down on that little piece of paper.”

And that, in a nutshell, is the reality of what has happened to the LGBT movement: it has been hijacked by far-left activists who have no real concerns for gay people, including minors.

I’m not saying this is true of those involved at QUEERY. Not at all. But I do fear they’re misguided and being manipulated by a bigger, more pernicious agenda.

One that hates America more than it loves its children.
